Defries has a new employee to welcome - Ben Lee appointed to the new position of Supply Chain Manager. Ben offers a wealth of hospital experience in the purchasing area and dealing with contracts and suppliers for many years. He is enjoying his new position, we warmly welcome Ben to our company.
Queensland update
April 2010
Our National Surgical Product Manager, Sandi Green, has worked tremendously hard the past 12 months converting her operating theatre experience into well designed, practical drapes and gowns. She has found it challenging but rewarding, and a huge sense of pride when Defries launched their new draping material. Defries has also employed a new Sales Representative in QLD – Jenelle McPherson, a theatre nurse with sales experience. Welcome to Jenelle and her family.
Defries opens Warehouse in Adelaide S.A.
December 2009
In December 2009 we opened our new Defries Warehouse and Distribution Centre to offer delivery of Defries medical products to the South Australian hospitals.
Sandy Harris, our Sales Manager S.A., now has Kath Lockier to assist her in sales and also Grant Davis, the new Warehouse Manager S.A., who will organise the distribution of products.
The opening of the warehouse was celebrated with a Cocktail Party which was enjoyed by customers from different hospitals in Adelaide. Michael and Elwyn de Fries attended, with Greg, and enjoyed seeing many customers they have known since Defries Industries started in 1981.
Round the Bay in a Day –
Bike Ride to support the Smith Family charity.

Go Team Defries! This grueling bike ride around the Melbourne Bay was completed by about 20 Defries employees, each finishing either 100 or 210km, and also supporting a great charity!!
Training took place most Thursdays and it was amazing to see the improvement in fitness by the event day. Everyone is excited about the ride again this year...
